Campaign
CHANIPEN's first campaign: rigorous outreach about the Roma people, month by month, in Spanish, English and Romanian. It ran from February to June 2026 with the association's own means and continues, expanded, within the DROMA programme.
One topic a month
Every month we choose a subject and research it with academic and documentary sources. From that research we distil twenty-five short facts, published in stages across four weeks. Anyone following the account for that time ends up with a full picture of a question they probably knew nothing about. This is not filler: there is a source behind every fact.
The topics of the campaign
Romani slavery in Romania, Romani women, emancipation, resistance and epistemic violence. Five ways into a history that is almost never told at school or in the media, published in full in the association's three working languages.
From social media to live events
The campaign soon left the phone screen: book launches and live conversations with Romani authors and researchers, alongside the Romani Resistance Day event held in Cartagena. Every video is subtitled in Spanish, English and Romanian, and can be watched below without leaving this page.
What comes next: DROMA
From October 2026 the campaign enters a new stage with the support of the Intercultural Diversity and Inclusion Center (ILO): the “Did you know…?” series gives way to a monthly explainer video, also in three languages, keeping the underlying logic of one thoroughly researched topic a month.

The method
Did you know…?
Learn a topic through twenty-five facts. Every month a subject is researched with academic and documentary sources, distilled into twenty-five short facts and published one at a time over four weeks: by the end you have a full picture, not a stray headline. They stay on Instagram as story highlights, one per topic and per language, so each topic can be gone through in full whenever you like.
