Romanipen Escolar at EDUTRAT 2026, University of Alicante
Maria Dumitru presented the agenda and the teacher’s guide at the 1st International Forum on Educational Technology, Research and Transfer.
On 30 September, CHANIPEN took part in the 1st International Forum on Educational Technology, Research and Transfer (EDUTRAT 2026), held in the Assembly Hall of the Germán Bernácer building at the University of Alicante. Maria Dumitru presented Romanipen Escolar: a Romani agenda to transform the school.

The forum, organised by the University of Alicante’s UNESCO Chair in Education, Research and Digital Inclusion, was devoted to immersive reality as a way of passing on the history and culture of the Roma people. It was opened by its coordinators, Rosabel Roig-Vila and Miguel Cazorla, together with M.ª Mar Galindo Merino, deputy vice-rector for Diversity and Social Inclusion.
The day also brought together Andrea Khalfaoui Larrañaga (University of the Basque Country), Bruno Miguel Jiménez Jiménez and Mariana Santiago Vargas, with contributions ranging from intercultural education and inclusive schooling to the Great Round-up of 1749, virtual heritage and gamification.

Romanipen Escolar is print and screen at once. The agenda spreads 41 biographies, 41 pieces of trivia and 42 vocabulary words across 42 weeks of the school year, and each biography has its own video with Romanín: pupils reach it by scanning the QR codes printed in the agenda itself. That move from the notebook to the screen and back, within the same activity, is what makes the project a piece of educational technology, and what brought it to this forum.
